Who we are

CERU is a national non-government organisation (NGO) , registered by the NGO board number INPD13589260NB and permit number INDP000260NB.

CERU leadership is deeply rooted in the experiences and needs of the people it serves. Constituent representation is embedded in the organizational structure, ensuring that those directly impacted actively contribute to decision-making processes.

The leadership team comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds, including representation of young girls in and out of school, women/young girls (IPV) survivors, older women /widows living with HIV/AIDS and Women with Disabilities. Regular consultations, feedback mechanisms, and participatory decision-making are integral to organizational practices, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment among the constituents.

CERU’s initiatives are shaped by the lived experiences of the target groups, reflecting a commitment to addressing their unique challenges. By being led by and for the people it serves, CERU ensures that its strategies are not only responsive but also transformative, promoting the dignity, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls
