CERU is committed to advancing Climate Gender Justice, recognizing the interconnectedness of climate change and gender inequality. Women and girls are disproportionately affected by climate change due to their roles as primary caregivers and reliance on natural resources for livelihoods.

Our initiatives prioritize the empowerment of women and girls in climate action, conflict prevention and migration nexus; advocating for their inclusion in decision-making processes and providing them with resources and skills to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. Through community education, capacity-building, and advocacy for gender-responsive climate policies, we strive to create a more equitable and resilient society where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive in the face of environmental challenges. Together, we work towards a future where climate justice and gender equality go hand in hand.
