Community Transformation and Empowerment

Community transformation and empowerment strategies is at two levels; aim to create positive social change by addressing systemic issues that contribute to poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. These strategies involve engaging communities (ordinary people and leaders), building their capacity, and promoting their active participation in decision-making processes.

CERU will bench mark scientifically and non-scientifically tested methodologies and develop specific intervention strategies to inform program implementation focusing on category

(a) Community Transformation through working with ordinary women, men and young people in the community to change their attitude and behavior and support the much needed change and category

(b) work with community leadership who comprise of Local Council 1&3 courts, Religious leaders, clan/opinion/cultural leaders  to strengthen their role/mandate in community development, prevention and response to Intimate Partner Violence.
